Road Trip to the land of Utah
So Friday I headed down to Provo! I had a fun filled three day weekend ahead of me. I stayed with my best friend Lilly Pyle, she is just the sweetest, most amazing girl. If you don't know her, get to know her...she is the best. She introduced me to the movie Sleepless in Seattle and lets just say I highly enjoyed it, and her and I did Tim Tam Slams. SO GOOD! Anyways I also got to see my girl kendra moberg for a little bit, she gave me a makeover at her salon, then later we ate our hearts out at Pf Changs. You know they serve shrimp with melon there? I didn't. Now I know and it tastes divine, odd combo but very yummy. Then Mal and I were reunited! It was funny we were away from each other for a day and we couldn't do it, we missed each other too much! Her friend and my friends came together at Dennis. It was wonderful to meet everyone and finally get to see the people we try to explain to each other all the time...we had some good laughs and may or may not have drove our waiter crazy. Hmmm lets see, oh I also got to spend time with the King of Rexburg...his name is Tim Allen(yes like the show) he moved to Utah last semester, it made me upset. It was nice to see him and of coarse we did the classic run to one another then jump into a big hug...so precious!
Sunday Mallory and I went to Lilly's ward, which is in the testing center. That was kinda weird, but you get over it. We had a blast in Sunday school because we went to a dating class...can you just picture the comments being made? Yep it was epic. Mal and I made a video about it..stay tuned. Well okay I just have to say this because its my blog and I have the right to vent...MY CAMERA IS BROKEN. It was so sad not getting to take pictures every two seconds and having to steal my friends cameras to capture memories. It wont turn on and it works for maybe thirty minutes, if I put new batteries in it then it dies again. Ugh I even went to temple square on the way home with Casey because he is the nicest guy, but guess who didn't have a camera for any of it...THIS GIRL. Anyways I'm done venting about that. The weekend was a Success and I'm so grateful for my great friends, they are so wonderful!

Oh hey, Provo. How are you? The same? Figured.
Three day weekend, why not head to Provo? Well, Friday at about noon I got in my car and did just that. Breanna was also heading to Provo for the weekend, but went a little later with another friend. I was actually extremely excited about the four and a half hour drive by myself. I'm pretty sure blasting incredibly good music in the car by yourself for extended periods of time is the cure to anything. Basically, exactly what I needed.
After a stop at my mom's, and a visit to F.Y.E. (Yeah, so I fed my addiction, and got 5 CDs for $20. Rounding out my CD purchases for the week to 6. Radiohead, The Guess Who, Paul McCartney etc etc. I'm in music heaven.) I was in Provo at Janie and Quinston's place listening to and looking through Quinston's records. Then Janie and I headed off to Muse Music Cafe to hang out for a while. After a bit, in walks the one and only Chance!!! Love that kid. We chatted for a bit, catching up on life, school etc. His awesome band Chance Lewis is playing the Rexburg Sammy's on March 18th, by the way. I expect to see all my Rexburg friends there. The night was ended with a typical everyone meet at Denny's and hang out for hours laughing about ridiculous things.
Saturday I spent shopping and going to the gym with my Mom. She is rad. I love her. Then I of course had to do homework and take a test online before I headed up to Salt Lake to see OP. I wish we could see each other more often, I love her! We caught up on recent happenings in our lives, and chatted for a while. After a few hours, I got a call from an unknown number, and it turned out to be one of my favorite people, Joey! Professionally known as Anthon Jackson. He's probably the best photographer ever, check out his website immediately. Besides the time he randomly showed up at a pumpkin carving thing in Bellevue a few months ago and we got to chat for the whole of maybe 3 minutes, we hadn't seen each other for about a year and a half or so. Plus he is only in the states for another week or two, so I of course had to head over and see him. Carly and Kim, who he was in a band with a few years back, were putting on an acoustic set at some club. It was so awesome to see them perform some old A Film in the Ballroom stuff. So good. Always good to see Joey and discuss our shared love of music (we have basically the exact same taste), travels and other areas of life. We plan on running into each other again soon, hopefully in Italy. If I can get myself there, meaning if I can save enough money.
It's been so good visiting old friends and seeing my sister and mom!! I miss them, but not so much Utah. Tomorrow I will be heading back to good old Rexburg and diving back into endless homework. I can't wait.

Music Is My Boyfriend
Does anyone remember that song, Music Is My Boyfriend? (that video is ridiculous. Is that Portuguese at the end?) Probably one of my favorite songs to work out to. And Breanna and I may or may not have just made up our own lyrics to it too.
Um, so pretty much if fate decided to be my friend, and if it was actually possible, and if it wasn't against my religion, I would be married to music forever. I'm pretty sure we would be extremely happy together. Really though, as most people know, I am beyond obsessed with music. I don't think it's wrong, in fact I think it's right. So, you will come to find out that most of my posts will consist of me discussing music. (That's really all I care to discuss on a regular basis, in life or on the internet) So deal with it, and (hopefully) love it. (I love using parenthesis.)
So over the past little while I have been listening to mostly a ton of Led Zeppelin. The Lemon Song, are you kidding me? GENIUS. I might pass out, I seriously can't handle it. Also, tons of Brand New. Yeah that's right, that somewhat emo band I used to listen to all the time when I was 19. They are probably the only band from that genre that I still listen to on a regular basis, because I think they are freaking legit. And they are one of my favorite bands. His voice kind of makes me want to die. Example: "Bed" The last 20 seconds of that song also make me want to die, incredible. I understand why some people don't like this band, but at the same time I don't. Really, just listen to 5 of their songs and then try to tell me that you can't find anything you love about them. You won't be able to do it. Their drumming and guitar should win you over, plus their incredible use of silence. I love them. Maybe it's a little too screamy at times for you, but you have to give them credit for the way their music build and gets so intense! "You Stole" (5:32-5:46 personal favorite part) and "Limousine" (Most tragic song ever. Read this.) being perfect examples. The way they create emotion in their music blows my mind. Their song "The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot" is one of the only songs that actually literally makes me cry almost every time, and I'm not a girl that cries over that many things (just dumb boys) so that is saying a lot. Also, this band always make me want to play Dr. Mario (I am always wanting to play Dr. Mario, so I guess that's not saying much) because I can't tell you how many hours Kelly H. and I used to spend during the cold Provo winter nights not doing our homework and instead listening to endless Brand New while playing Dr. Mario at Glenwood. Such dear memories.
Post Script: If you work out at all it's imperative that you check out some songs by Girl Talk. Some of the best mashups ever. Radiohead, Jay Z, Earth Wind and Fire, Mariah, The Police etc etc. Out of Control. I don't like some of the raps that are used, but I just skip those. Such good work out music!!

Half way there...
Can you believe it!? This semester is already half way done, when my teacher said the words Mid term grades my heart sank to my feet...jeez felt like I just got here. Besides that these last couple of days have been GREAT. Monday was good old valentines day, it went better then I excepted, I ended up really really happy :) I did miss a little piece of home though because on valentines day my dad would get me roses, it was cute and it made me miss my dad...cheesy I know! Anyways then today was a beautiful day, it hit 40 degrees, I almost ran outside in my swim suit it was so HOT! Mallory and I took a little stroll outside before devotional, it was nice having the sun shining and not wanting to run into the warmth of a building. Hmmm what else...oh yes I love love love card games, I get intense about it. So tonight Casey and I played Uno and I beat him twice...it felt awesome. The game went on forever, took us about a half an hour for just one game. Who knew Uno was that nuts!? After I dominated Mallory and I went and got Frozen Yogurt, their was a super fancy deal...50% off! Lets just say Mal and I decided that eating frozen yogurt is the same as kissing...maybe better. IT'S SO YUMMY. Who ever thought of frozen yogurt is my hero. Then to end our night we went to the store..this was our list
Shoppin List:
milk
T.P
bananas
brownie mix
ovaltine
I just laughed, how random can we get! Goodness! Now were doing the normal roommate routine, playing our favorite songs, doing homework, watchin funny SNL videos and taking waaaay to long to actually get in bed and sleep. Gotta love it. Well Blog world it was nice talking to you, wish Mal and I luck on this busy busy week we have!

IDAHO FALLS TRIP
Walking with two sisters
by Larry Hiller
Faith walks before me,
Holding up her lamp
As I try not to stumble in the ink dark hours
before the dawn
Her light illuminates
One step and then another
Beside me, Hope, arm linked
with mine, encourages and steadies
Sometimes in the tedium,
Distracted by the pain,
My mind begins to wander, then
my feet. I hesitate.
Unsure, I look to Hope.
Her hands take mine
The touch reminds me of another
hand held out to me
One pierced and scarred
Yet oh so tender
Lifting me and blessing me when
I had fallen and despaired
Remembering
I move ahead
Buoyed up by Hope, who sees
the end with perfect clarity .
Fridays Breanna and I tend to go to Idaho Falls. Today we did just that. We did our usual routine as she mentioned before : split a Cafe Rio salad, scan the sale rounders at Target, buy Tim Tams (if you've never had these cookies I feel like you should be slightly ashamed of your life), and of course (mostly just for me not so much Bre) spend a good amount of time checking out the CDs. I'm pretty sure I have a serious problem with buying CDs. but I am proud of myself, I didn't buy any today.....at Target. We also go to the temple every Friday, and the Rexburg one is still closed so we went to the Idaho Falls one. Bre will be writing about that.
Musically today has been intensely good. First off, we listened to the entire Discovery album and had our own dance party in the car on the drive there. Check out that band immediately, by the way, you can thank me later. Then we turned on the radio, and the song that has been following around all week long was of course on: E.L.O "Evil Woman". Not even kidding, I think that song is haunting me or something. I do love it so much, but I feel like the universe is trying to send me some type of message. Either it's trying to tell me I am an evil woman, or just that that song is beyond amazing. I'm hoping for the latter. Then we both freaked out and started laughing so hard the second we heard the beginning guitar of "The Reaper", otherwise known as the cowbell song. And yes, we both pretended to be banging the cowbell while listening. Then on the way home we had an intense sing along when we heard "Tiny Dancer". Good times. To top the trip off, I freaked out maybe a little too much and maybe almost crashed (not really) when they started playing "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey". Sue me, I love Paul McCartney. Also, tonight Bre and I attended the BYU-I symphony concert. It was pretty much awesome, and intense. I think we can both agree our favorite part was the song featuring some kid playing the drums. We couldn't keep our eyes off of him. Seriously, what is it with drummers? Stick a guy behind a set of drums and he turns attractive immediately. Weird. Then we went to Wal-Mart and I broke the pact I had with myself. I bought another CD. Seriously though, it was The Doobie Brothers Minute By Minute album for $5!! How could I not buy it?

SUN IN REXBURG...Whaaaat!?
Hello blog world, I will tell you about my day! This morning I woke up, ate a banana, threw on a sweatshirt and headed over to my writing and reasoning class. When I walked outside I noticed something amazing! The sun was out! Holy Hannah I didn't know what to do, it was bright and I almost (key word almost) felt warm. I knew right then that today was going to be a splendid day. In a couple of hours Mallory and I are going to Idaho Falls, we go about every weekend to hit up Cafe Rio and Target:) Just a little roommate date! But this time were going to the Idaho Falls temple, I have never been in that one and I'm really excited. My calling this semester is to be a Temple Attender...wonderful calling right!? So every Friday I go, it has really been amazing. Okay anyways after we get back Mallory and I plan on going to a concert, get all dressed up, ready to embrace ourselves with the goodness of music! :) We do it often and to be honest what is a splendid day without GOOD music? Mal and I are obsessed, its neat. Well that's that! Breanna Lynn's life on a Friday in the burg.
p.s this is officially my first time writing on this blog...lets see how it goes.
